Description

I NEED A REVIEW FOR THIS PAPER PLEASE.

Hi,

You did a great job with this assignment as your executive assignment was organized, succinct and professional. I have a few questions about several of your criteria so see my feedback in the scoring guide. Please highlight your revisions.

In researching your own organization’s approach to the core measures, have you thought about how the nurses can participate in the decision making process in complying with the core measures?

CRITERIA 1

Compare the compliance rates of a specific measure for different organizations. Compares and contrasts the compliance rates of a specific measure for different organizations.

COMMENTS:

In comparing and contrasting compliance rates for your core measure of stroke with other organizations what did you learn about your current practices? You can include a table with the compliance rates from other facilities if that is easier.

CRITERIA 3

Identify the stakeholders affected by changes to a specific compliance measure and describe changes that would improve compliance of a specific measure. Describes changes that would improve compliance of a specific measure and explains how the changes would impact stakeholders and contribute to overall quality improvement.

COMMENTS:

You discussed who your stakeholders are. What changes can be made to improve compliance to the core measure of stroke in your facility? How would these changes impact the stakeholders? How would the changes contribute to quality improvement in your organization?

Some extra information in regard this course:

Overview

Investigate your organization’s compliance rate with one specific core measure of your choice and write a 2-3-page (maximum) executive summary analyzing the financial and regulatory impact of organizational compliance with your chosen measure. Include recommendations for improving performance on the measure.

In order to promote safe, caring, patient-centered environments, nurse leaders must both conceptually understand and be proficient at performing a wide variety of leadership skills. Effective nursing leaders develop and maintain awareness of issues that emerge at many levels within and outside of their organizations. In addition to developing self-assessing competencies necessary for their roles, nurse leaders must also acquire organizational and systems leadership skill sets.

Context

In this program, you have examined the role, concepts, and principles of health care policy and how legal and regulatory agencies interact with professional nursing practice. You have also looked closely at the factors that impact disparities in health care access. This understanding of health care policy, as well as the multicultural, socioeconomic, political, legal, and regulatory elements that affect individuals, communities, and vulnerable populations, positions nurses to bring about change through effective communication with colleagues, consumers, and officials. Added to this is your demonstrated knowledge of financial management and cost containment, as well as how they affect quality of care.

Questions to Consider

To deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of the business community.

  • What is the relationship between financial reimbursement and quality of care?
  • How can nurses and health care organizations influence health policy?
  • What is the process in your organization to initiate, implement, and support improvement changes?

Assessment Instructions

For this assessment, write an executive summary analyzing the financial and regulatory impact of organizational compliance with a specific core measure of your choice. The summary must include recommendations for improving performance on the measure.

You must be able to explain the financial implications associated with the measure, as well as its importance in terms of policy, regulation, and finance. This is another good opportunity to consult with a key stakeholder within the organization. Talking to someone who works closely with the organization’s finances can help you develop a deeper understanding of the financial aspects of compliance. You also need to suggest ways your organization can improve compliance and how you would implement changes and overcome obstacles.

This may seem like an enormous undertaking, but you should approach it as if you were to present this information to your supervisor or manager. Keeping in mind that people in these positions do not have time to read a 10–12-page report, you would typically give them only an executive summary of your analyses and recommendations. That means that you will need to be very clear and very concise with the information you choose to include in the executive summary. Say as much as possible with as few words as possible.

Core Measure
Core measures are essential in helping to improve the practices of the organization in
delivering quality care to the patients. The design of the programs guides the provision of care to
the different risks that the patients face, and this helps in commissioning of the change expected
in the organization. Patient safety is one of the core measures at John Hopkins, and this helps in
the assessment of the practices that improve the quality of care for patients that suffer from
stroke and asthma. The compliance rate of the organization to the core measure is high, and this
helps in coming up with the measures that aid in the rehabilitation of the patient’s needs. The
measures are essential in focusing on the reduction of the complications that patients face and
this assists in focusing on the growth measures of the organization and service delivery
measures.
Comparison of Compliance Rates
The rate of success of the organization is essential as it helps in the observation of the
different accreditation and this guides the course that the patients undertake in getting the
required treatment. The organization compares to others where the determination of the services
offered is and the comparison with the percentages of the patients getting better services. There
is a 100% compliance to the changes taking place in providing quality service, and this
comparison shows the reduction of the recurring attacks on childhood asthma and stroke. The
initiatives that the organization take in compliance focus on the promotion of patient care and
this means there is support of the standards set that guide the viability of the different activities
(Adrian et al., 2016). The communication with the patients shows the efforts that help in
increasing the responsiveness of the patients, and this helps in the assessment of the changes that
continue to take place in the hospital.
CORE MEASURE
3
Importance of the Measure
The core measure is important as it sets standards that guide the reduction of complications
among patients. There is an assessment of the outcomes and the objectives of the organization in
enhancing the recognition of the hospital performance. Quality patient care is in line with the
hospital policy for the improvement of the services and the coordination efforts of the different
departments in the market. There is a focus on the plans that help in the recommendation of the
efforts of the hospital and the coordination with the various hospitals (Jangland, Nyberg &
Yngman‐Uhlin, 2017). With quality care, there is a reduction in costs that the company incurs,
and this helps in the management of the policy and regulations in the hospital environment. The
regulation of quality improves in the management of the rates of transmission of the diseases and
enhancing of the activities in defining the quality measure.
Identification of Stakeholders
The stakeholders are important in helping to improve the interests of the patients, and this
leads to the increase of the quality of the services. The stakeholders in the organization include
the community that receives the services, employees, and leadership in the organization that
observes the changing needs of the organization and evaluation of the need to correct the
different instructions used in discharge. The focus on the benefits that emphasize on quality
helps the nurses to focus on the requirements that assist in the facilitation of the expected care
and the clarification of the changes expected in enhancing the quality of the services (Corkin &
Kenny, 2017). The assessment of the methods of use in improving quality is important as there is
the provision of the information required in the correction of the services offered. There is an
assessment of the prescription of the methods and this guide’s documentation of the different
changes in enhancing quality.
CORE MEASURE
4
Obstacles and Recommendations
The obstacles that quality care faces include the assumption of the quality of care basing
it on the type’s buildings and the material that they receive. The challenge faced in the health
sector is the maintenance of the low-cost strategy, and this creates the need to focus on the
perception of the services and their costs. The offering of the solutions that enhance quality is
important as it helps in the management of the incentives given to the patients and this creates
the improvement of quality and the management of the different services offered by the hospital
(Yang-Kyun et al., 2008). The governance measures affect the quality of the services, and this
creates the need to focus on the different strategies that help in the management of the
framework of operation. In the management of costs, the accessibility of the services helps in the
management of strategy that encourages the growth of the hospital. The assessment of the
governance is through the analysis of the hospital concentration of the changes in the healthcare
environment, and this helps in the protection of the practices enhancing the quality of the
services (Swart, Pretorius & Klopper, 2015). There is need to focus on the development needs of
the organization as this helps in the creation of the framework that enables the monitoring of the
services that the hospital offers improving the sustainability of the efforts in the long run.
