Please describe your interest in pursuing a counseling degree and also please
explain why now is the right time to start? I have just completed my Bachelors
of Science in Business and would like to continue my education in Counseling.
Hoping to become a therapist in the near future.
What influenced you to choose this field? Not happy in my present position
and career path I have been in for years.

applicable) to which you are applying. Please note that your goals or reasons

applying. I have to desire to constantly try to assist individuals in handling
changes and seeing a bigger picture.
What are your personal and professional goals for after you receive your
degree? the personal qualities you possess and rely on to form effective
interpersonal relationships with others? I plan to get into my new career and
hopefully one day setup my own business and a counselor, helping individuals
get to a better understanding on life and all its struggle. I have the ability to
always be of assistance to individuals, offering support and building trust is
very easy for me, talking to me people tend to become very relax. I want to
learn the correct way to handle and analyze the way I will be able to help or
calm someone in my new field. While preparing me for my license.

Describe your undergraduate and any graduate education, including
experiences that influenced your choice of graduate program/specialization
(e.g., study abroad, certificates or research experience). My BS with the
concentration in Marketing in business will assist me in how I will manage my
business, branding, and approach to deal with staff.
Outline how you intend to apply what you learned previously to your master’s
program at Walden (note: it is not necessary to have previous academic
experiences in the same field). I will be entering a new chapter in my academic
path as this is the path for me to take my life experiences and learn how to
build a better me through helping other cope with daily struggles.

what you would have liked, please explain any special personal, physical, or
family circumstances that may have adversely affected your GPA). I could of
worked a little harder to obtain a better GPA, I would like to graduate with
honors with this Master degree, setting this as a personal goal.

candidate for this program). I have been in the work environment for years and
have always taken any job that has come my way. I was in the health/sales
industry for 12 years, making a great living but not quite fulfill with my jobs.
Therefore, I was always moving. I was skillful and educated in the field of
work, yet not educated academically educated. I want to be a professional in
the work I do for a living where my job makes me happy not contend just for
the income.

Provide an example or examples of when you interacted with
individuals and small groups of people who are different from you (e.g.,
ethnically, sexual orientation, racially, spiritually). I do this daily as I am in sales
and my customers are diverse in so many ways, physically, ethnically, sex, age
spiritually. I do business sales, and these are my customers. I handle these type
of individuals on a daily basis.
Discuss the importance of being culturally sensitive and provide examples of
how cultural sensitivity impacted (or could have impacted) the outcome in the
example(s) you provided. Culturally sensitive issue are on our forefront lately.
Individuals are opening up to mental blocks that have tortured them most of
their lives. So this is important.
Discuss the importance of self-reflection in considering and responding to
issues of cultural sensitivity. I find that self-reflection is needed to understand
the sensitivity of how others feel through self-reflection.
