Safety and Standards Strategy

Define your strategy for standardizing and ensuring the safety of your RFID infrastructure, using the reading materials and any additional resources you find helpful to provide a standards and safety strategy for your RFID design proposal.

To prepare for this assignment:

  • Complete the Pluralsight tutorials, and reading material for this week.
  • Using the library or Internet, find at least three references that will support your expanded design.
  • Assume the facility is up and running with everything you need to install and configure the network devices.

Your completed strategy should include the following:

  • Describe the main organizing bodies for RFID standards. Identify and describe those organizations that set standards for RFID.
  • Describe the ISO- and IEC-appropriate standards most applicable to your organization’s RFID infrastructure. Include a discussion of how these standards play a role within your particular organization.
  • Describe the RFID industry association standards that will most appropriately apply to your type of organization. Include a discussion of how these standards play a role within your particular organization.
  • Describe the EPC architecture and its role in RFID communication.
  • Identify an appropriate tag data standard and numbering system for your organization. Which tag data standard and numbering system do you plan to use for your organization? Support your choice.
  • Describe RFID safety concerns for your organization and identify the means by which you plan to mitigate these risks.
  • Describe the main regulatory bodies for the RFID safety standards. Identify and describe those organizations that set safety standards for RFID.
