Same sex relationships
The issues of same-sex relationships have always been a complicated one. It was an
issue that could not be tolerated in the early eighteenth and seventeenth century, and a person
who was suspect of this act could be easily be condemned to death. However, the cultures and
the education system has slowly changed, and in the modern world, it is normal for people of the
same sex to be seen in relationships. Same sex relationships are in movies, programs, televisions
series, and books and even out in public places. The sexual orientation identifiers that have been
discriminated against are ethnicity, nationality, generation, social classes and religions of
individuals.
Unfortunately, there have been vast changes in issues regarding the same-sex
relationships. In 1973, the United Systems of education and the entire society regraded sex of the
same gender as a chronic illness. Different research showed reasons for homosexuality, and any
teacher who was found with the case of the mental illness could be banned, and their license was
taken away because they were not fit. The same situation continued, and even after ten years,
some people still felt that gays or lesbians were unfit to teach the public schools. There is also
another case where homosexuals and lesbians have been executed. Everything changed in 2003
when U.S Supreme Court said that it had no power to demean other humans simply because of
their sexuality. According to various religions, same-sex relationships was a very sinful act and
was seen as a curse. Even though today people are becoming used to same-sex relationships,
some religions still condemn this act and do not allow them to attend their churches.
By the same token, arguments presented for same-sex relationships include thing like all
people are equal no matter their sexuality. It is not an illness to be born attracted to the same sex,
but it is how a person is born and cannot change it even with treatments. The other things that

supported the same-sex marriage in the K-12 system are that the constitution emphasizes on the
treatment of each individually equally and the power of freedom. If one did not disturb the other
person, a person can choose to be who they want. I do not think it is appropriate for public
display of affection to be broadcasted to the world in front of children. The argument against
same-sex relationship said that it was wrong and against nature to like the person of the same
sex. Another strong argument that was discussed against was that sex and relationships is meant
for straight people because they have different organs and applying the same theory to the same
sex is wrong under every category even in biological concepts.
In this case, the incidence of injustice occurs in education where students and teachers are
discriminated against. They can be discriminated regarding teaching and students not to access
teaching facilities and lessons because they are sick. It is wrong and unjust because we are all the
same, no matter the sexuality one chooses to be. There have been many cases that have been
presented to the court regarding the welfare of the same-sex relationships, but very few of them
have been passed. Even though the modern society has accepted the same-sex relationships,
many people especially students in education systems are discriminated and feel less human in
schools.
It is sad that, students and teachers are broadly affected with cultural identifiers. For
example, there is religion based K-12 education system that cannot allow people of same sex to
have relationships. Finding out this is the case would lead to being banned and discriminated.
Ethnicity has also had a huge effect on both students and teachers. Some people might have
accepted the same sex relationships, but there are cultures and ethnic groups that cannot let their
students be taught with gay or lesbian teachers. The ethnicity groups that see gay people as
cursed could be tough for even a student to come out and reveal their identity.

In conclusion, unjust treatment for the gay community is very wrong. Even though the
United States trying a much as possible to ensure that every person is treated equally, the gay
community still receives discrimination in the k-12 systems. Discriminations include lack of
access to some facilities, mocked and laughed at, not being selected in certain sports activities
and limited freedom of speech. The best solution to end this injustice is by making tough rules
that will make it hard for one person to treat the other unjustly. If there are no strict rules in all
organizations, the gay community will be mistreated every day.
