For this Assignment you will use SPSS (PASW) software and learn to properly manipulate data
according to APA requirements. This is an important skill and will be a major factor in future
Assignments in this course and in your Doctoral Study.
To prepare for this Assignment, revisit Lessons 1–11 in the Green and Salkind (2017) text,
with emphasis on Lesson 5. Review the SPSS Code Book document provided in the week’s
Resources.
By Day 7
Submit a mock SPSS data file (.sav) based on the guidelines in the SPSS Code Book document
provided in this week’s Resources. Note: You will be creating a data file consisting of the nine
variables identified in the SPSS Code Book document. You will not input any data into the file.
Note: Refer to the Week 1 Assignment Rubric for specific grading elements and criteria. Your
Instructor will use this rubric to assess your work.
Submission and Grading Information
To submit your completed Assignment for review and grading, do the following:






Please save your Assignment using the naming convention “WK1Assgn+last name+first
initial.(extension)” as the name.
Click the Week 1 Assignment Rubric to review the Grading Criteria for the
Assignment.
Click the Week 1 Assignment link. You will also be able to “View Rubric” for grading
criteria from this area.
Next, from the Attach File area, click on the Browse My Computer button. Find the
document you saved as “WK1Assgn+last name+first initial.(extension)” and click Open.
If applicable: From the Plagiarism Tools area, click the checkbox for I agree to submit
my paper(s) to the Global Reference Database.
Click on the Submit button to complete your submission.
