This week’s lesson characterizes and defines what a Spiritual Gift is, likewise, it gives a
clarification to every one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit: prediction; apostleship, discernment,
evangelism, knowledge, minister; exhortation and so forth from the perspective of their
significance. Despite our identity or where we’ve originated from, we’ve all been endowed with
profound blessings. These blessings make us our identity. God knows precisely what gifts would
be perfect for us all. (1 Cor. 12:11, 18). Peter Wagner (1979) describes in his book that spiritual
gifts as an extraordinary property given by the Holy Spirit. God has outlined each of us
independently and deliberately to encourage His kingdom.
Our heavenly Father has instilled within us specific gifts with the purpose of using them
to advance his kingdom and bring Him glory. Peter explains in the scriptures that not only do
each of us receive a gift through the Spirit, but he also tells us of the purpose of them.
The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts that devotes His sovereign will and purposes. In this
weeks class lesson we took a brief survey the “Identity in Christ” media & the “Discover Your
Spiritual Gifts!” survey, I discovered that God has designed me truly uniquely and He has gifted
me with the following spiritual gifts such as knowledge, administration, exhortation, faith,
service, mercy, giving and hospitality. I believe that through God I am using my gift of faith to
help encouraging others that are less fortunate than myself. He has giving me the gift of mercy
and hospitality. I will continue to encourage and uplift others that I counsel on a daily basis. As a
Christian counselor in the field of addiction I will also continue to display empathy and
compassion towards my patients. I have been employed in the addiction field now for nineteen
years and it truly brings me joy in helping others. The first step in the process of sanctification is

focusing on Jesus Christ as our model. I put on Christ like the characteristics such as forgiveness
of others when they have done me wrong. The scriptures further tells us that Love motivates
spiritual growth. In the scriptures I also discovered that God gives us profound endowments
based on grace.
Every individual, doing their part utilizing their spiritual gifts, understands God’s beauty.
Christians should care about others (1 Timothy 5:13). Saint Paul gives the example of Jesus who
in is almighty emptied himself to become a human being and a slave. It’s a good example that
the son of God humbled himself in order to self-humankind by being obedient to God (2:8) this
is an example that everyone regardless of the position they hold in the society should emulate.
In the article on a Biblical Model of Stages of Spiritual Development: The Journey
According to John’s journey is based on the book of 1st John. It examines the four stages of
spiritual growth. The stages are well explained, they start by showing you where you are and
where you are heading as well where you are needed to go. With a thorough understanding of
this spiritual stages, you will be able to easily locate where the others are, hence being in a
position that you can relate or even help them according.
In conclusion, God gifted me with salvation. I strive everyday to be acceptable in His
eyes and to walk a walk that lines up with the Word. Even though I struggle daily God continues
to love me personally and show me strength and encouragement found in the scriptures.

In my previous course CCN 601 and in this weeks lesson I have learned that God plays a
important role in both our development and spiritual growth. The scriptures informs us that God
uses positive results to motivate us individually to continue our pursuit of holiness. Spiritual
growth balances our responsibility to be obedient with God’s enabling power. The bible tells us
that we are to obey God and spend time with Him through prayer, and study. As we exercise
these spiritual disciplines in our lives, God brings about growth. The more we grow, the more we
desire to grow. God uses difficult circumstances, consequences of our choices, and persecution
to mold us into the kind of people He wants us to be. God does not depend solely on His internal
work in our lives to bring about spiritual growth.
By His elegance God has guided and directed me to improve as a Christian counselor. I
have actualized his mission into my life and perspective. As a Christian counselor I will
demonstrate sympathy, compassion and thoughtfulness to my counselees. Jesus indicated
genuine sympathy for others. Jesus displayed empathy and compassion towards others such as
the lame, poor people and the rich, and strangers, the miscreants and the religious. I will display
Christ like behaviours towards my counselee and show great listening abilities and empathy
towards my counselee.
In the light of the Scriptures I have to evaluate my own comprehension of His pledge and
new viewpoints. As an adoring Father, He has given us his assertion in the Bible. As a Christian
Counselor it’s been essential for me to look to the Lord and His son Jesus Christ, as the ideal
clinician and advocate. as a Christian I ought to implore every day and acclaim God for his
identity and what He has done in your life. I am learning that the Bible is God’s oath and it is
enlivened through Him. When I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior, I can start a relationship with
him. The Lord journeys with us through life’s ups and downs, and struggles without judgment or
impatience. It is essential that I learned to put full trust in the Spirit in the counseling process. I
am developing profoundly in the last three months. I have started perusing the book of scriptures
increasingly and I additionally observe myself advancing in my association with God.
Otherworldly development takes time. The Holy Spirit is managing me and driving every one of
us into truth.
In conclusion, as I ponder God’s Word, certain pointers started to rise that have helped
me to decide if I am advancing spiritually.Spiritual development takes time. The Holy Spirit is
directing me and driving every one of us into truth. We can cheer every day realizing that we are
ending up more adjusted to the picture of Christ. I see myself developing profoundly in light of
the fact that I am winding up more patient and tolerant of others. Lastly,I believe that as a whole
we can profit by spiritual growth and development development in our own lives. Spirituality is
additionally connected to one’s way to inner mindfulness and quest for happiness.
